Dental health and care should start as soon as your child begins to show signs of teeth. How do you ingrain dental health to you child though in a fun way that will stick with them for the rest of their lives? MAKE IT FUN! Use the tooth fairy to your advantage. Children love characters and special creatures, the tooth fairy being one of those people. Here are the things you can do to help the tooth fairy be your biggest ally in the fight for getting your children to understand the value of dental health:

  1. Write notes that reflect what the tooth fairy wants.

Tooth fairies are real fairies, which means they are small and have expectations, much like santa. When you have told your children about the tooth fairy when their teeth begin to show, start to leave notes, or tell stories about how the tooth fairy is fun, but wants them to take care of their teeth. The tooth fairy loves CLEAN teeth.

  1. Make it look like a fairy wrote the note.

Add a fun types of colored pens, stickers, glitter or even a picture of the fairy. Anything that you can do to make it special will help your children WANT to brush their teeth.

  1. Use special currency.

Use a special $2 bill (That you can order from your bank)
Tell them that you have NEVER seen the mythical $2 bill, and only the best children get them.

  1. Give them more than just money.

This is the the perfect trace for a tooth fairy’s note.
Give them a special toothbrush tied to the money with floss. Put the money inside the box. Maybe even some candy to reward them for delivering SUCH a nice tooth.
